Woodworking is one of most special crafts that is used to fabricate wood items for utility and for serving decoration needs at home. Not only is it a brilliant skill to posses, it is also one of the most pleasing hobbies of all times.

 

Working on wood is not a painless job; you need to have the right material and proper tools before you decide to go about building a wooden structure. There are certain terminologies that you need to keep in mind before following a woodworking plan:


1. Mortise: It refers to that region of wood, which is removed for the purpose of attaching another item to the wood.

2. Mitered joint: it means that the two ends are cut at a differing angle to fit into each other without leaving any gap.

3. Woodworking Fret Saw: a wood cutting tool, used for the purpose of cutting out a variety of shapes in wood.

4. Riffler: It is a woodworking tool that helps in woodcarving and filing small shapes in wood.

5. Milling: is cutting the lumber from wood.

6. Kickback: it is referred to a situation when a board is on the machine for cutting and is accidently thrown back towards the machine machinist. This situation can often be dangerous.

7. Chamfer: it is the removal of the pointed curve of a part of wood which produces a flat, beveled frame.

8. Bead: It is normally a rounded shape incised into a square rim to refine the edge and give some guard against splitting.
